When your coat comes back from Highland Cleaners perfectly pressed chances are good that Frank Johns was working with "Suzie", his pressing, steaming and vacuuming machine. As Manager of the Coats/Skirts/Sweaters division, Frank is responsible for thousands of garments a week. "We make sure that coats are pressed and look great when they go out," he said. A valued employee of Highland Cleaners for a total of 14 years, Frank Johns began as a pants presser, a job he held for five years. He left the company for a time and came back as a coat/skirt/sweaters/ presser. After six years, he was promoted to Manager and he has been supervising that division for over 5 years. Frank is also a minister at his church and uses his excellent communication skills to inspire and motivate his dry cleaning team. He said he appreciates his experienced team of five. "This job gives me the opportunity to associate with good people. They're nice to work with," he said. Frank added that much of his job satisfaction comes from pleasing the customer. "Knowing they're happy makes me happy," he said. |
