ROSALIND COTTON - LAUNDRY TEAM LEADER Rosalind Cotton’s years of consistent, dedicated service is part of why Highland Cleaners was voted Best of Louisville. Part of our Laundry Department, Rosalind started on the touch-up board, a position she held for 11 years. For over 10 years, she has been making sure that your shirt sleeves are pressed to perfection. Rosalind's job is complicated and she works simultaneously on three machines: one sleever and two cuff and collar machines. When she first gets a shirt, it is still wet and has just come from the washing machine. She puts it on the sleeve and then on the cuff and collar. When she's satisfied with her results, she passes the shirt to her partner who does the body. She is constantly moving and handles several hundred shirts an hour. Rosalind always has a smile for everyone and passes on her joy to co-workers. She said that she takes pride in a job well done. "When the shirt comes out really good, it makes me feel good." She said she's especially pleased "when there are no wrinkles the first time." |
